This is a Schecter Keith Merrow KM-6 MK-III Artist, finished in Trans Black Burst.
While there are several tiers of the MK-III (such as the Standard and the Hybrid), the "Artist" model is the premium import version, specifically designed to mirror Keith Merrow's high-end USA Custom Shop specifications. It is built from the ground up for modern metal and high-gain playing.
Body: The body features "wings" made of Swamp Ash capped with a highly figured Poplar Burl top. The swamp ash provides a lightweight, ergonomic feel, while the burl adds a striking, exotic aesthetic.
Neck-Through Design: If you look closely at the back, you can see the distinctive stripes of the 9-piece Wenge, Maple, and Purpleheart neck running entirely through the center of the body. This construction drastically improves sustain and structural stability.
Neck Profile & Fretboard: It features Schecter's "Ultra Thin C" neck profile, reinforced with carbon fiber rods. The fretboard is Ebony with a 12" to 16" compound radius and 24 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets.
Inlays: It utilizes aluminum offset/reverse circle inlays on the fretboard, paired with Luminlay (glow-in-the-dark) side dots so you can see your hand position on a dark stage.
Pickups: It is equipped with a set of Keith Merrow Custom Series Fishman Fluence humbuckers. These are active pickups designed to deliver the dynamic response of a passive pickup but with the crushing high-output clarity required for modern metal.
Controls: Alongside the master volume and 3-way pickup selector, the mini-toggle switch allows you to switch between different "voicings" programmed into the Fishman pickups, giving you multiple distinct tonal options.
Hardware: It features premium tuning stability thanks to an Ernie Ball Compensated Nut, a Hipshot hardtail bridge, and Hipshot Grip-Lock tuners.
Retail Value: Because this is the spec-heavy "Artist" tier, these currently retail brand new for between $1,699 and $1,849.
Used Value: On the used market, assuming it is in excellent condition without major dings or fret wear, they typically hold a value of around $1,000 to $1,300.
